Mississippi State's very own self-taught crochet and knit artist has released her first collection with her clothing brand Bliss Apparel. Student Braelyn Clark initially picked up knitting and crocheting as pandemic time-filling hobbies. Braelyn described the learning process as frustrating and tedious, "I almost gave up," she said. After a few failed attempts and consulting an experienced friend, she eventually got the hang of it. "Then I thought maybe I could make this into a little business, and now we're here!"
When asked what her proudest moment was as an artist, Braelyn says it was the first piece she sold. "I sold my very first shirt to this girl on Depop to wear to Coachella last year." She's since created/sold over 54 pieces on Depop alone, not including custom orders. One year since selling this first piece, she has released her very first collection!
The Bliss Apparel Valentine's Collection features knit and crochet sets, dresses, skirts, tops, and accessories, and each piece is handmade with varying silhouettes and signature distressed detailing. Many pieces come in festive Valentine's colors- perfect for date night or galentines celebrations! The collection is featured below and is available for sale on Depop. Bliss Apparel will also be hosting a pop-up shop at Dodson Farms in Starkville, MS on Wednesday, February 15th at 6:30pm preceding the Fashion Board show.
