When thinking of cities that are powerhouses for the music industry, Memphis is without a doubt one of the top dogs. Even though it is known as the “Home of the Blues,” Memphis has given us artists covering all genres, producing some of the biggest names in the industry. One Memphis band, although not at Elvis Presley status, has been aiming high over the years on their rise to fame, and so far, has been hitting every target. In 2015, while students at the University of Memphis, high school friends Jeffrey Jordan, Spencer Stewart, Graham Rowell, and Andrew Isbell formed The Band CAMINO. In 2016, they released their first EP “My Thoughts on You,” claiming their spot in the indie rock genre on all streaming services. After a second EP, a few more indie rock/pop singles, and the replacement of drummer Andrew Isbell with Garrison Burgess, they released their debut album “tryhard” in 2019. With hit songs like “See Through” and “Daphne Blue,” this eight-track album was a massive success and launched them into a North American tour with two shows in the United Kingdom. After Graham Rowell was dismissed from the band in 2020 following sexual misconduct allegations, the trio that is The Band CAMINO we all know and love today was formed. Their second album “The Band CAMINO” was released in September 2021, containing new hits like “One Last Cigarette” and “Roses.” Their tour for this album called “The Tour CAMINO,” lasted from March to April of 2022, and was soon followed by “The Band CAMINO University Campus Tour,” hitting major college towns in the south in September and October.

I have been listening to The Band CAMINO since 2018 when I saw them open for Ben Rector in Nashville. Seeing them grow into the band that they are today and watching so many people fall in love with their music as I have, has been nothing short of amazing. I have seen them live several times for no more than $30.00 a ticket, and their stage presence and energy are unreal. It is so obvious that they are passionate about and love what they do, and I have never introduced their music to someone who didn’t immediately want to know more.
Their new single “Told You So” was released on February 21st, with European tour dates released the next day. Having been in their top 0.05% of listeners in 2022, I’ve taken the liberty to attach a link to a Spotify playlist with my favorite songs by them and the ones I always suggest when introducing them to someone. I highly encourage you to throw in those earbuds and go press shuffle now, before their new (and probably biggest) era begins.

did someone say CAMINO?
P.S. Listen to “California” first :)
